For almost two years we have all been directly or indirectly affected by COVID-19. During this time, we have experienced challenges from increased lead times, shortages in raw materials, and more specifically, we have seen the following increases in costs related to the ongoing effects of COVID-19:
Shipping Costs: More than 40% increase in our cost to ship packages to our customers.
Transportation Costs: More than 500% increase in ocean freight costs for importing candle jars. A typical shipment for a 40’ Full Container Load (FCL) previously cost approximately $5,000 whereas that same container now costs $20,000 to $25,000.
Jewelry Costs: More than 20% increase in cost to design and produce our jewelry.
Raw Material Costs: We have experienced significant increases across the board for all the raw materials that we purchase to produce our finished products.
Labor Costs: Our final products are handmade in Los Angeles, CA and in order to retain our staff members and remain competitive in hiring, we have had to follow the market on wages, resulting in significant increases in labor costs.
